W e l c o m e .

Tarremah Steiner School offers classes from Playgroup to Year 10. Based in Huntingfield, south of Hobart in Tasmania, the School enjoys a partly rural environment.

At Tarremah, we recognise in each child a unique spirit and we work with a broad curriculum to create an environment which addresses the developmental changes of the growing individual. Each childs inner life of imagination and moral striving is cultivated, along with an enthusiasm for academic challenges and enjoyment of physical activity. We strive for the balanced development of the human faculties of thinking, feeling and doing.

The innate creativity and joyfulness of healthy children
is encouraged through an artistic approach to all learning situations.

TARREMAH, our name.

The name "Tarremah" is derived from the word for albatross in the language spoken by the original aboriginal inhabitants of Oyster Cove. The albatross embodies independence, devotion, skill and endurance. As birds are to the air, so thoughts are to the mind.
