We would like to invite you all to the School Community Hall Opening on Friday 9 December from 1:30pm – 3:30pm. More details to follow.

The College of Teachers are also wanting to hear your suggestions for a name for the Hall. If you have an idea for a name please email it to Arlene (arlenec@tarremah.tas.edu.au) by Monday 24 October.

Having made a fantastic effort with our sports day, we are hoping to be a big part of a multi-school effort to fold Origami cranes on behalf of the people of Sendai, Aki’s home town. In schools around the state, students are folding one crane, donating a dollar and writing a message of support. The cranes will hang in the ABC foyer in Hobart on 5th August and will be part of a Japanese cultural activity broadcast on the Friday afternoon, which some of our students will attend. Thereafter  a couple of  representatives cranes from each school will go with the good wishes and funds to Sendai. In this case we will ask that the money go directly to helping children in need. This activity will not only reinforce the peace message , but also the origami cranes’ other message of healing and support. So, please send a dollar with your child to school during the week starting 1st August and be a part of this activity, where every small contribution will let people in Japan know we remember their ongoing difficulties.
